What is an MRI?

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a technique for taking pictures of the inside of your body without radiation. MRI images are made by placing the body in a strong magnetic field using a scanner. We use a version of this technique called functional MRI to try to understand which areas of the brain are activated during cognitive processes.
