New Holiday Contest 2007
Once upon a time, a long time ago, we had a lab Haiku contest for amusment for the holiday season. It's time for a new contest, fMRI/Cognitive Neuroscience Lolcats. :)If you're unfamiliar with the lolcats concept, http://icanhascheezburger.com/ is a good place to get the basic idea.
I happen to find it personally highly amusing to apply generic humor concepts to science. And since I usually need an hour or two downtime after lecturing, I decided to explore the medium a little bit with the lolcatbuilder at that site. Emi graciously provided a picture of Max for the first fMRI lolcat (below).
Perhaps you think you can do better? Well, that's the holiday contest this year. Lolcats that incorporate key ideas from cognitive neuroscience or fMRI data analysis. Is it possible to use lolcats to teach fMRI data analysis? How could these not be more memorable than boring technical slides? How can we resist testing this hypothesis next Spring?
Deadlines, judging method and prizes TBA.
